“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You
hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will
see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Matthew 7:1-5
In the Tommy Simpson is a Bad Boy and The Judgment articles, I was writing about judgment. Please, leave judgment to our Father. He will judge by one's entire life, not just a few incidents. Our Father knows what is inside a man's heart. It doesn't mean we take them at face value. We must learn to attempt to change a person by loving, forgiving, and a gentle nudging toward our Lord. When a person acts in an unacceptable way, that person has been affected or directed in those acts by forces and events we may not be aware of. God is aware of those forces and has led them to us to apply his example and to be his instrument that leads them to his son, our Lord and Savior. Is Tommy Simpson Jesus Christ or preaching his word? One can only answer that question by examining his actions or motives in depth, But...judging him as bad without examining or giving him a chance, Should in no way be the response of a Christian. Furthermore, the father should have asked his son what his thoughts were on Tommy, and, if Tommy is, as we say, bad, then love, forgiveness, and prayer for him should have been the response from a Christian. Judging others is an area I, personally, need a lot of improvement in.
