THE DON'TS CAN BE OVERPOWERING

The "Don'ts" of Christianity or, better yet, the "Don'ts" of the self-righteous can just plain overwhelm you as well as your walk with Christ and greatly diminish the divine beauty of God many times. Some well-meaning (I hope) Christians truly turn God into a Gestapo-like concentration-camp commander which is the total opposite of our loving Father who gave us his only true son to save us.

This is my God, a God that, through first-hand experience gained from my personal relationship with him by his personal invitation, is a loving-loving-loving God who helps me navigate life's tempests. My God is available 24-7. My God cheers me up and smiles as he wraps his arms around me after I have just failed miserably at being an example of his son, Jesus Christ. My God gives me strength when all human advice is to quit...give up. My God listens when I rarely listen to him. My God tells me I'm good when, plainly, I fall far-short of the definition. My God tells me I understand the most important part of his "Rules" because I understand the spirit of those "Rules." My God says that it is good enough when I cannot recite verbatim every word of his Word. My God, like the true Father he is, loves me unconditionally and spoils me, lavishing unimaginable spiritual riches upon me,  just for having faith in Him, just for loving Him, and just for leaning on Him.

Next time, don't let the "Don'ts" get you down. Next time, let God's fatherly-love lift you up.

CALLED TO...

Keep this in mind.

We are not called to become Christians.

We are called to become Disciples of Christ.

IS YOUR TANK ON "E"

If we are too old, too young, too busy, too tired, too unprepared, too important, too drop-dead cute, or whatever to serve our Lord in some capacity each mind-bending and astounding day he places upon us, - perhaps we have missed something in his example, his unconditional love, his always being right here when needed - maybe. But then - maybe - we just don't care. It takes a heart surrounded by impenetrable armor to not be affected by the tasks our Lord places in our line of vision. But our hearts aren't surrounded by such or we would not have been drawn to our Lord in the first place. let us give a little to others of what He gives to us in such abundance and without condition, a hand up with love.
How far can a person go without spiritual fuel and where does a person get that spiritual fuel? Only one source exists and the price is a mere pittance of the wealth he showers endlessly upon us, passionate yet soft love. At this price, we can't afford not to fill up our tanks each day.
