RECEIVING A PRAYER REQUEST

When someone asks you to pray for them or someone they know suffering or for protection while traveling, etc, do you? If you do not - then start now. A person asking for prayer from a fellow Christian means they are honoring you and trusting you to ask God for assistance on their or someone's behalf.

As Jesus teaches us in scripture, do not get real wordy like the pagans with the prayers for God knows what is in our heart before we pray; after all, he is God. Pagans think that the longer the prayer, the better chance that their so-called God will hear and answer. Our God is the living God of the living. He is not deaf. He is not persuaded by long hours of ceaseless begging. He hears and answers immediately or begins the process of helping. We may not see the process going on or receive help in the exact way we as humans think it should be, but God hears and answers. Let him do his work - his will.

So, keep in the forefront of your thoughts always that God is infinitely smarter and hears infinitely better than we do. Put your trust in God, not people. He will never disappoint us. Pray for his will to be done, not yours, and as Jesus instructed us, pray with faith and it shall be done.
